Relaxed 31DC Week 16: Tribal Print

Greetings All!

Are we really 16 weeks into this challenge?! Over halfway! Unbelievable.

Today's theme is tribal nails. I have zero interest in tribal print, on anything really. It's just not me! Plus, I injured my finger at work the other day (bread is deadly btw, it ripped off about half my cuticle on my right ring finger), and that's still healing so I would have had to paint with my non-dominant hand, which means a fiddly freehand design like tribal print would have sucked! That or show you my gross injured cuticle, and nobody wants that. So, what to do?

I used my tried and tested cheaters method - I stamped! Lol I always stamp if I can't think of anything else to do, because you still get an awesome manicure (in fact better than I could do freehand, which is a little bit depressing), and I don't have to work as hard, or spend hours trying to think of a design. Plus I got the new Cheeky jumbo plates, and plate #1 'Viva Mexico' is just heaving with tribal designs!

It also seemed like a good reason to use my new Barry M Gellies, as they're all bright and summery and they kind of have that holiday vibe.

So hopefully this will count as tribal nails! I used the Barry M Summer 2013 Gellies in (from thumb to pinky) Passion Fruit, Guava, Mango, Key Lime and Blue Grape, all stamped with Cheeky 2013 jumbo plate #1 and Konad White, Barry M Gold Foil and Sally Hansen Fairy Teal.

My favourite is my ring finger - cute little cactuses! A lot of the other stamps are a bit off-centre, I blame the fact that I broke a nail so had to file the others down a bit, and I'm not used to stamping on short nails! Usually I'm struggling to fit the whole design on, whereas here I had to pick which bit of the design I wanted to go on! That's a pretty poor excuse though.

Be sure to have a look at everyone else's nails (because they have bothered to freehand lol)
