UK Indies - Freckles Polish Prank Call And Christmas Collection

*These products were provided for review*

Greetings All!

Today I have a rather picture heavy post, with four polishes from Freckles Polish that will be released this Friday (the 28th).

There are two new collections being released. The Christmas polishes are coming, but first two polishes from the Prank Call collection. They all have amusing names (think Bart Simpson prank calling Moe), and so I assumed they would be full of glitter and bright colours, fun polishes to match the names.

These are not fun polishes. These polishes mean serious business! This is two coats of Anne Teak.

One very moody, gothic and gorgeous polish! It hovers in between bronze, olive and gold depending on the light, in a blackened base (I love saying that. Blackened.). It is absolutely stunning, and although it's not what I...assumed, it's such a lovely surprise!

Also, look at it with matte topcoat! Beautiful.

Next up is Phil McCrackin, again two coats and again not what the name suggests!

The shimmer is far more subtle here than in Anne Teak. It's more of a black polish with a purple shimmer but when that shimmer does hit the light, it's lovely. Another very gothic looking polish!

Matte topcoat to try and show how delicate and pretty the shimmer is. I'm not sure why my little finger looks so shiny though! It looked normal when I was taking the pictures...

So I was very, very pleasantly surprised with these two polishes! Don't get me wrong, I do like a fun polish, but I much prefer a dark and moody one!

Now onto the Christmas collection. As it's now less than a month away, I suppose it's acceptable for me to mention Christmas!

First up is Santa Baby, two coats.

A lovely squishy red jelly, filled with gold flakies. I really like how it's quite Christmassy, being red and gold, but also it reminds me of strawberries! This could easily be worn any time of year, and one problem I find with seasonal polish is that often it is very seasonal. Red gold and green look like Christmas any time of year. It's the same with Halloween polishes, the difference being I don't mind seeing Halloween all year! This will definitely be getting some strawberry themed nail art on it at some point though.

Finally, Pull My Cracker, one coat plus a few touchups over OPI Going My Way Or Norway, and Christmas Gone Plaid.

This is again festive without being too...Christmas specific. A simple mix of gold and dark red with a little sprinkle of iridescence. I really like the combination, and it's a sophisticated take on the classic red and gold.

As always the formula and application were great on all four. I always only need two coats of the polishes, and the classic one coat plus touchups for the glitters. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be Anne Teak. It's just beautiful!

All these and more will be released this Friday, the 28th, over on Etsy. You can keep up to date with all the new releases and Freckles news on FacebookTwitter and Instagram!
