Green Week: W7 Mojito

Greetings All

Green week continues, in honour of St Patrick's Day this Sunday. I'm actually on holiday from work on Sunday, which is enough cause to celebrate by itself! So I will be free to paint my nails as green as I like!

I don't have quite as many green polishes as I thought, but still more than enough for a week. Today I am showing you W7 Mojito, which is a lime green glass fleck style glitter in an extremely sheer lime green base, sheer enough that you have to wear a base colour, but green enough that it basically has to be green (I was hoping to maybe layer it over a pink or something, because why not?). This is 2 coats over Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Grass Slipper.

This does look quite nice in the pictures, but I did not like this at all on my nails! It;s kind of, too sparkly. It's really busy on the nail, and it looks a little bit cheap. I don't know if it's the glass fleck glitter, the colour, the combination or what, but it is doing nothing for me.

I even tried it over a darker green to see if it would make a difference. This is 2 coats over Barry M Gelly Watermelon, as one coat was ridiculously patchy.

It was still a fail, in my opinion. Weirdly though, in the pictures in looks really nice. Over Watermelon it has a lovely depth that you just can't see in real life. It's going in the 'get rid of'' pile, but these pictures did make me reconsider for a moment!

So this is very rare for me - a polish I don't like! Usually I find something I like about it, or I think it would be good for nail art, but this was just fail all the way. Shame.

Tomorrow, yet another green glitter! Because you can't have too many (except for Mojito).

  1. It looks better over the watermelon but that said not enough for me to want it. I've tried the matte topcoat and I love it, thanks for the recommendation :D

  3. It does look nice in the pictures - in bottle and over grass slipper it reminds me of BL Dosh.
