It's All About ME!
My name is Cazzy. I'm 27 and I live in the South East of England.
Confession - I'm a lifelong nail biter! Although there have been periods when I grew my nails, they would always break eventually, then I would end up biting them down again. I have however enjoyed wearing nail polish, again for periods of time, since I was about 10 or 11 years old. I used to use a brand called Spectacular, that I would buy on a local market stall. From a teenager onwards I mostly wore black nail polish, or sometimes glitter. I was always really bad at applying it though!
This period of long nails began in June 2012. I just decided, as I sometimes do, to grow my nails for a while. I dug out my small collection of nail polishes, and began painting my nails again.
I first became aware of nail art in August 2012, after reading THIS article on Cracked. Random, right? (Great site, by the way. SO funny). I took one look at the pictures, and my head exploded! The creativity, the possibilities, the gorgeousness of it all! I immediately started looking at tutorials, buying tools from eBay, and apparently I am trying to buy all the polish. I've been impossibly addicted and obsessed ever since. I still worry it might be a (very expensive) phase, but so far it's just been escalating!
My favourite polishes are cremes, jellies, holos and glitters. I'm not too keen on shimmers, and I take metallics on a polish by polish basis!
My favourite brands include, but are not limited to; OPI, Sally Hansen Salon Manicure, W7, Barry M, Etude House, Innisfree, Black Cat Lacquers and Revlon. (And many more!)
My favourite techniques are probably gradients and stamping. Gradients are a quite easy way to get a really stunning effect, and stamping...stamping is so much better at nail art than I will ever be (I'm not even good at stamping!). I also love a bit of freehand nail art, although I am finding myself doing that a little less recently.
Design wise I like animal print, flowers (especially roses), detailed, intricate, wallpaper type stamps, or anything a bit gothic or metal. At least, they are the ones I am more drawn to. Really I love all sorts of designs! Things I would hate on any other surface apart from my nails!
I'm sure that this page will be added to as I go along!
