Sun-Tried-Day - Nails Inc Iridescent Glitter Collection

Greetings All!

I know I said I'd retire this, as I'm not really much of a 'swatcher', but I decided to bring it back if and when I have something extra pretty. Which I do!

So far I've only really been a fan of the Nails Inc Leather Effect polishes. I don't (didn't) think their regular polishes were all that special, for the money. They often have sets in TK Maxx, but they've never really interested me. That is, until I saw this set! A set of four of what looked like jellies, with a golden iridescent glitter. It was payday, so I took a chance.

Things get a little picture heavy now!

These polishes are indeed jellies, and they dry to a matte, slightly textured finish. With topcoat, they really come alive! I used 3 coats for each of these swatches.

Raphael Street is a deep, dark blue that really sets off the sparkle beautifully. Here it is without topcoat.

You can see that it does have a slight texture to it. The first coat was very matte, then it built up to a more satin finish with all four polishes.

Here it is with topcoat!

So sparkly! And with a rich jelly squidge. It reminds me of the night sky. I'm not often one for darker blues, but I like this a lot.

Cadogan Gate had the same glitter in a pinky red base. I love how the different colours alter the glitter! Without topcoat.

And with topcoat.

This isn't as good a base colour as some of the others, and the glitter 'pops' a little less. Or maybe I just prefer the dark colours! The glitter has a very pink/orange tint in this one.

Lyall Street is a fantastic, bright shade of green. Here it is without topcoat.

And with topcoat.

This polish is the sheerest of the four, but look at all of that golden sparkle! It really lights up and twinkles when I move my fingers. I can't decide if this one is my favourite, or the next one.

Elm Park Road is a rich dark purple, almost similar to Raphael Street, but the purple makes the glitter look quite different. Without topcoat.

And with topcoat.

The glitter has a more orange hue, and with the purple it just makes me think of Halloween! Raphael Street can be the night sky the rest of the time, but Elm Park Road is the night sky in October!

Although I'm a fan of matte and texture, I prefer these with topcoat. It makes them appear much more jelly-like, and sparkly, which are things I'm also a fan of! I could probably live without the pink one, but the other three are all winners! They all applied very well and dried quickly, which is always nice. I may have to rethink my attitude towards Nails Inc...

Are there any brands you think are overrated?

    1. I usually don't even bother looking at the Nails Inc polishes in TK Maxx, but I'm really glad I did this time! You can also get them on QVC, but they're double the price!
