Greetings All!Today I'm taking a break from all my Halloween nails to share with you (part of) the latest collection from Pocket Money Polishes. These will be available from Friday (November 1st). The collection includes Charlie's classic glitter toppers, as well as three 'soft metallics'. Today I have swatches of those, and I'll have a glitter laden post later on in the week!
Someone Like You, 2 coats. As with some of the October polishes, I was a little hesitant about these. They aren't the sort of finish I would choose for myself, but I might just be an idiot, because this is a truly beautiful polish, and a good chunk of that beauty lies in the finish. It's a glorious shade of blue, and the shimmery finish really helps it to light up, like a sapphire! You can see a few faint brush strokes here and there, but I wouldn't say it was off-putting (and I would be easily put off!).
Bed of Roses, 2 coats. Another very rich colour, perfect for this time of year. Again, the shimmery finish does give it quite a glow. I did think it maybe looked a little bit old-fashioned in the bottle, but it definitely doesn't look like granny polish on my nails!
Lastly, Poison, which is such a pretty shade of green! Probably the most 'brush strokey' of the three, but I just like the colour of it so much. Is this seafoam green? Whatever it is, it's lovely. All these three are very reminiscent of satin, or satin ribbon. Has that been a 'thing' yet? People gluing satin on their nails?
Apart from the faint lines I mentioned, I had no issues with application (and if you can polish in a straight line, unlike me, they become even fainter!). They were all nicely opaque in 2 coats, and overall I liked them a lot more than I thought I would! I might have to stop ignoring anything that isn't a creme or a full-on glitter...uh oh.
These polishes will be released on Friday November 1st at 6pm here. There will be another post (probably Thursday), showcasing the new glitters! Although a couple of these might make a small guest appearance...
