I hope you are all having a good weekend! Today I have some swatches from my latest Korean nail haul, some pretty little ice cream colours. I will confess, I did buy these because the bottles are so cute! I have the glitters (HERE), and I discovered they also have a range of cremes (HERE), three of which I will show you now!
First up a bit of housekeeping. I was relatively happy with all three of these polishes. Application was OK - they have quite soft brushes, which did make application in the corners of my nails a little tricky. Instead of filling in any gaps, the brush just sort of bent back, so I had to use the very ends of the bristles to dab some in the corners. Not ideal! They also have a weird finish - glossy like normal polish, but they sort of look a bit like paint. Everything else was pretty good though- fast dry time, good opacity etc etc.
I bought Peach, because I do like a peachy polish for days when I want something slightly more colouful than nude, and I also thought it would be the perfect base for Apricot Candy. Plus, peach ice cream? Yum! This is 2 coats.
So, it's not the most exciting polish in the world. As I have several peaches, I probably even have a dupe for it. But it's cute and pretty and I like it, and that's all that matters really!
Blue Mint is a bit of a strange one. A bright, pale blue, I guess it's minty looking? 2 coats
It has the tiniest little hint of green to it, and it's slightly duller than in these pictures. I can't make up my mind if I like it or not! It's a weird one.
Blue Berry is quite a misleading name, as it's actually a grey lilac. 3 coats (this one was a little streaky)
This one I don't love. It's very grey and muted. I suppose it would make a good nail art base because it's quite neutral, but I was expecting something a bit brighter and prettier.
Overall I am a little disappointed, but I was probably expecting a little too much after those gorgeous glitters. They are nice enough - Peach is quite pretty, but they just aren't very exciting, and I don't think I'll be ordering the rest of the collection any time soon. If you are tempted, you can see them HERE, they're less than £3 each, and I was really happy with the service from the seller - fast delivery, well packaged etc, and they have a fantastic range of polishes. And, come on, how cute are those ice cream bottles?!
These bottles are so cute, and I like the pastel colours! I found some ice-cream shaped ones in Claire's yesterday and bought one purely for the bottle shape!
ReplyDeleteI really like these sorts of colours (including, and probably mostly, the last one) and the ice-cream bottles are just too cute!
