Greetings All!
Another new week, and another new month! How is it April already?! I can't believe we're a quarter of the way through the year! March was a pretty good month for me, blog wise at least. I hit five, six and seven thousand page views, and I'm up to 90 followers on GFC and nearly 60 on Bloglovin'! I've also had a bit more freedom with my nail art, as the challenges I'm participating in are weekly instead of daily.
I also started my first giveaway! If you haven't entered yet, you can still do so HERE until the 18th of April.
Last month I spent a lot of time swatching and organising my polishes. I am glad to report that untried mountain is more of a big hill now! And my Helmer is gradually being filled up.
One brand I have been neglecting is OPI. Why? Because they aren't being tidied away into my Helmer. I have a lovely fancy rotating stand for them. Like a cake stand for polish! I'll show it to you, once I have filled it up. It holds 60 polishes, and apparently I have only ever used 48 OPI polishes (I've barely lived!).
So this month, I'm making an effort to swatch all my OPIs, even if I don't end up posting them.
Here is the first! OPI Sonora Sunset. A rosy, orangey pink with a gold shimmer. This is 2 coats
I'm not a huge fan of shimmer polishes, which is probably why I have so many I've never worn! This isn't too bad - the shimmer is more subtle on the nail than in the bottle. It's a little bit old fashioned looking for me though. It's nice enough, but just a bit boring.
I thought I could maybe jazz it up with some stamping.
I used DRK-B and, for the first time, W7 Black! I know that other people have stamped with it successfully, but it was never quite opaque enough when I tried it (especially next to Konad Black!). I'm about halfway through the bottle now, and it has got a lot thicker. I was going to thin it, but I thought I'd have another go at stamping with it, and it worked fairly well! Not amazingly, but pretty well.
I'm still quite 'meh' about the polish though. It's a nice enough colour, but I just can't imagine any time where I would think "That! That's what I want on my nails!". I got it in a job lot, and there's always at least one like that!
Brace yourself for lots more OPI coming this month!
That colors is so pretty! Love the stamping you added to it.
ReplyDeleteAnother winner sweetheart! Seems like you are on a roll!
