Sun-Tried-Day: Sally Hansen Salon Manicure: The Purples

Greetings All!

I just realised I didn't even do a Sun-tried-day last week! Naughty Cazzy!

I got an amazing SH haul last month - many of the shades were advertised in this months Marie Claire! I can't resist having a little swatch of them now and then - they really are one of my favourite brands at the moment.

This week I'm showing you four purples. I do like purple - it covers such a range, form nearly pink to nearly blue, bold and neon to very dark. I think I've got a good variety here!

Cherry Cherry Bang Bang is that most elusive kind of polish (to me anyway!) - a jelly! Honest! This is 3 coats, and you can still see quite a bit of VNL. Next week I'm planning on trying this in a cherry jelly sandwich!

When I tried this one, I was wide eyed with delight! One coat was very colourful, but so sheer, and it definitely has that juicy, squishy, jelly quality. I love a jelly polish, but I only have a couple, so I'm very happy to add this to the collection!

Anenome of Mine is much darker and richer (and opaque, sadly). This is 2 coats.

It's quite a vampy looking plum colour, very rich and decadent! Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous, but maybe not very unique?

Good To Grape is, surprisingly, a grape colour! Good enough to eat! 2 coats.

This is a really lovely colour - a deep, dark, dusty colour, slightly muted. All the Sally Hansens seem to have this muted quality - while colourful, they aren't bright or gaudy. I love it - I think it makes them look a little more grown up!

Last up is Purple Posy. This one is more towards the magenta end of the purple spectrum. 2 coats.

Another rich deep shade - Sally, you are spoiling us! I love how a magenta colour pops on nails.

So, once again, I can't say enough good things! Excellent formula, easy application, fast drying, super shiny (no need for topcoat!) and so far they are one of the very few brands that can survive on my nails through a day at work! And I never pay more than £2 for them. I think at this stage, if I could only use one brand of nail polish, it would be these! My personal favourite of the four has to be Cherry Cherry Bang Bang because JELLY!

  2. For me, it’s a tie between Good to Grape and Purple Posy, just because I like how bright they are despite being muted. Plus, it’s purple. So there. :P

I have to agree, the Anenome of Mine kinda looks like the generic plum color you see in other polish. The fact that it’s a bit on the opaque side gives me that vibe, I guess.
