Evening Sky Gradient

Greetings All!

I mentioned at the weekend that I had been gradienting quite a bit recently. I've been really inspired by the sky, specifically the sky outside my window just after the sun goes down. My window is North facing, so I don't get a good sunset view, but just after the sun dips down I get this beautiful view (if there are clear skies!) that I've been desperate to recreate. I finally had a go.

This is another four colour gradient, using Sally Hansen Yellow Kitty and Jade Jump, Barry M Blueberry and Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue. And of course, Butter London Frilly Knickers.

This would be more impressive if I had a picture of the sky I was recreating, but my camera didn't think I needed one - it just kept flashing, and I ended up with pictures of nothing!

I'm very happy with this though - from my window there's no orange visible, so the sky goes from yellowish, through green and turquoise and then through several shades of blue, finally into night. This is what I see when I'm sat blogging, or painting my nails of an evening! Today is very cloudy though (rainy in fact!) so I'll make do with these nails!

    1. Thank you!

It's taken me nearly a year to get to this stage (I did my first ones September last year and they were atrocious!). Practice makes...well, not perfect, but pretty OK I guess!

It's honestly just practice, and a bit of choosing the right colours/polishes too (something I often struggle with!)
