Greetings All!
This evening's post is a very exciting one, for me. Back in December last year I saw this polish reviewed on The Crumpet, and it led me to purchase my first indies, from Glitzology. For some strange reason I didn't get Diet Cokehead. There were just too many pretties (remember, my first indie polishes!), and in the end I bought some others instead, telling myself that I would come back for it at a later date. Unfortunately, Stacy hurt her back in March/April, and her Etsy store has been closed since then. So Diet Cokehead became my first real lemming (most polishes I want, I just buy lol). I kept an eye out on blog sales etc, but I had pretty much resigned myself to never owning it. Not the end of the world - it is, after all, only a bottle of polish. In the great scheme of things, there are far worse fates than not owning it. But it was a shame. It has red and black glitter! And I am a Diet Cokehead - I drink the stuff all the time!
Last week I received a message from the amazing Rachael from Racho's Nail Love, saying that she had a polish on my wishlist that she wanted to send me. I've read about the amazing generosity of the polishing community, but this was a new experience for me! I felt guilty letting her give me polish, but of course I accepted. Now, you all know where this is heading, but at the time I didn't. She wanted it to be a surprise, so I didn't know what I was about to receive!
Last weekend my parcel arrived. Diet Cokehead! I was SO shocked - I'm pretty sure I made a weird, strangly kind of noise when I unwrapped it! The number one polish I wanted in the world, and it was sitting in my hands! Rachael had also included some very cute ellagee minis, and some sweets. Lol, I needed the sugar after the shock I got! I'm not exaggerating either - I did feel a bit sick and dizzy!
I had to wait a few days to wear it, so I could keep it on for more than a day, but finally it's on my nails. And I am in love! So here it is, 2 coats of my number one lemming, with topcoat.
I was a little bit worried that it wasn't going to live up to my heightened expectations, but it so did! A little bit thick, like all my other Glitzologys, but I was prepared for that so application wasn't too tricky. Silver, red and black glitter in this wonderfully soupy base. It has a kind of muted, grungy sparkle to it that you can't really see in the pictures, but looks fantastic in real life. It's perfect - everything I hoped it would be!
I have to say huge, massive thanks to Rachael. I can't even adequately describe how happy, and grateful I am! Seems silly for a bottle of polish, but every time I think about it, I start grinning!
What's your number one lemming?
aw how sweet is that! Great polish, the red and black glitter is so clever :D I'm dying to get China Glaze It's a Trap-eze, Crows Toes Absolum/Your Potions Master and Digital Nails Expelliarmus, it's just having the money :p
ReplyDeleteOoh Absolum is gorgeous - good taste!
DeleteI'm usually naughty and justify the expense, but even then some polishes are so hard to get hold of!
