Greetings All!
Double Challenge Friday rolls around again! I can't believe it's been nearly six months since I started this challenge. It does not feel like that long! Today I must be inspired by a book.
Confession time - I really don't read all that many books. When I was younger, I used to devour them - I used to read all the time. However these days I can never seem to concentrate - if I do read, I never seem to take it in, and I have to reread bits because I find my mind wandering.
The vast majority of the books I own are cookbooks (which I never use!) or true crime books, mostly about serial killers (I'm weird, OK?). So I have been inspired by true crime books!
In my head this was pretty cool, but it didn't really work out that way on my nails. I have some crime scene tape, my fingerprint (man, fingerprinting on polish is hard!), some blood, some pretty rubbish text (I don't think me and newspaper nails get on at all!) and a magnifying glass. I did intend to put something else on my pinkie - footprints maybe, or some sort of weapon, which is why I stamped it off to one side, but I forgot! These took a lot longer than I thought they would, as I redid the text and fingerprint several times!
The base is Beauty UK White (which is really good for a cheap polish), and I used OPI The Thrill of Brazil and The 'It' Colour. I also used Konad Black, some ink for the fingerprint, Barry M black nail art pen, and a newspaper. My stamping plates are a mess at the moment, but I think it's from GA47.
I haven't been having the best of luck with this challenge lately! The last nails I was happy with were my Galaxy nails for week 19. I guess the 'inspiration' part of the challenge hasn't really been working for me. I'm a couple of weeks ahead though, and they do get better, I promise!
I'll be back later with some Nerdy Nails!
I love these, they're so unique and well thought out. How did you do the fingerprint? It looks awesome! X

DeleteI tried various inks and things, I think in the end it was just a biro - scribbled it on my fingertip, then rolled it on the polish, like you would with stamping (or if you are being fingerprinted lol). The technique was easy - getting it to print on polish was the tricky part!
These are so awesome! I love the crime scene tape especially!

DeleteI just wish my thumb was longer, so that I could have fit a bit more on!
