Summer Scene Gradient

Greetings All!

Are you all having a good weekend? I am! A very good weekend in fact. More on that story later.

Recently I've been messing around with some gradients (now I put glue around my nails, the cleanup is so much easier, so I have no excuse not to!). I'm pretty proud as I've been managing 4 colour gradients! I've got several to show you this month, and they're all inspired by the sky in the evening.

This one even has a little scene on it!

Ok, so first of all, I know you don't get butterflies at night. I didn't have any fairy stamps or anything cool like that, so there's a bit of artistic licence going on here - just go with it lol.

I started with my gradient, using Sally Hansen InstaDri Jade Jump, Barry M Gelly Blueberry, Miss Sporty...unnamed deep cornflower blue (damn you Miss Sporty!) and Barry M Bright Purple. I realise the difference between the blues is quite subtle, but that was intentional, as I was trying to make it look like the sky as the sun disappears.

I then added a coat of Butter London Frilly Knickers, because it seems I always have to add it to gradients - I just love the way it looks, especially over the changing colours. The finished gradient reminded me of window stickers - the kind with a circle surrounded by black, and they have little scenes in, with fairies or cats or something.

Kind of like this one, from eBay
I was nearly certain that I had some fairy stamps, so after picking out the vegetation I was going to use, I searched, but didn't find any (part of me is still sure I have one somewhere!). I do however have loads of butterfly stamps, and I figured, they're close enough. They have wings and such!

I stamped with Konad Black and BM303, BM313, BM318, BM324 and CH3. I loved this so much, I even copied it on my other hand (which wasn't easy because my nails are noticeably shorter on my left hand!). Then I spent most of the weekend gazing at my nails. Apart from the fairy/butterfly swap, this looks just like it did in my head. That's always the biggest win for me!

Could the Miss Sporty polish be 320 Pop Fiction?

    1. Thank you!

Wow, you're good! It does have 320 on the label - I should probably research more carefully lol.

I know they have the names on the stand when you buy them but a) I don't take notes and b) they're usually all muddled up anyway! Next time I'll search for the number in the little box - thank you for the tip!
