31DC Day 5: Purple

For once I knew exactly what I wanted to do for this manicure. I had it pictured exactly in my head. Purple is The Crumpet's favourite colour, and she is also a big fan of holo's (well, who isn't?!). I just happened to have a new purple holo to try. It was fate! To prove that point, it even looks like it did in my head! (That rarely happens. Something is usually lost in translation)

Anyway, here is Day 5: Purple

This is Models Own Southern Lights, a lilac holo glitter with just so much sparkle it's almost obscene. This is 2 easy coats.

2 coats of Seche Vite made this a little hard to photograph. It's just too shiny!

Look at all that holographic goodness. mmmmmmmm.

So this is 2 coats of Southern Lights,  stamped with Revlon 'No Shrinking Violet' and plate BM05. A few rhinestone stars in the middle, all sealed in with Seche Vite. Done! I only wish I could have found 5 purple rhinestone stars. I only had three. Then I managed to lose one!

Don't forget to check out what others have done!

  1. Great work on the challenge so far! I adore Southern Lights- what an amazing holo! Your stamping and rhinestones work very well together.

I wanted to welcome you to blogging and nominate you for a Liebster Award Wonderful job, keep it up!

    1. Thank you very much! I will fill this out tomorrow!

  2. I have recently found out to be a purple laquers' fan. Love this one because it looks like a messy multi coloured still purple one to me, and very joyfull. I like your short nails and your simple style too. Too bad that you don't swap though, I am wanting indie brands so much, and I can't find them here in Italy..

    1. Thank you! Models Own isn't an indie brand, you can find them at and I believe they ship internationally. Unfortunately Southern Lights is out of stock, but they have loads of gorgeous colours and lots of glitters!

I love it when you awesome people leave comments! I read and treasure them all, and I'll always respond to a question as soon as I can.
