UK Indies - Hairy Legs London Swatches

*This product was provided for review*

Greetings All!

Back in September I showed you some gorgeous polishes from Hairy Legs London. She arrived on the scene with unusual, exciting glitters in really vibrant combinations! I know that sometimes a more plain glitter can be nice, almost cleansing, but personally I favour the crazy, rainbow, busy explosions of glitter. I may sound a bit strange, but I like to sit and look at my nails, and take in all the different shapes, colours and finishes. I like something to look at! So when I was asked if I would like to swatch a few, of course I couldn't say yes fast enough!

I was super excited to receive 6 polishes to share with you, and wow. It's an epic selection!

Mondrian was the first one I tried. I intended to do a quick swatch of each, but once this was on my nails, I had to paint my other hand to match and wear it for the rest of the day. I'll admit, I knew Mondrian was an artist, but I had to do a quick Google to see his works, and this polish captures the style perfectly! 2 coats.

Isn't it wonderful? I felt very arty and cool wearing this, and I was especially taken by the rather large blue squares. Next time I'd love to use a neutral base, but Barry M Spring Green seemed to fit with the red, yellow and blue. It also reminds me a bit of Lego!

Slimer is from the Halloween collection, and to be honest, it looks kind of gross in the bottle! It actually looks like slime! Fortunately, it's just polish. 2 coats.

Look! Super slimy looking!

After debating which base to use, I settled on black, I know these translucent neon glitters 'pop' better over white, but I thought it might be fun to make the iridescent glitter the star, and have the neon as a background glitter. I'm quite pleased with the result - I think it gives it quite an ethereal feel, and they didn't get as lost as I feared they might. Also, all that purple/blue/green colour shifting looks amazing with the black and green!

Bad Luck (another Halloween lovely) is a bottle full of shards, silver and iridescent. I'm starting to fall hard for shards - my early experiences were basically of little shark fins sticking up on my nails, but when they're done right, and they lay flat...I love them! So jagged and pointy and cool! 2 coats.

This is quite a cold-looking polish - it reminds me of ice, or frost on a window. The silver is insanely reflective and shiny, to the point where it was difficult to get a photo! I added some matte topcoat, so you can see the shards without being blinded!

I love it matte! It almost has a distressed, weathered look to it that I think is really cool.

Cute Poison completes the Halloween trio. All kinds of great things in this polish - skulls, butterflies, hearts, circles, and more iridescence! 2 coats.

Unfortunately the base I chose (Color Club Shabby Drab) is just a touch too light, and you can see the yellow of those iridescent hexes. Personally I don't like that, as they aren't the nicest colour ever! That slip up aside, this is just my sort of glitter. Shapes, colours, lots of interesting stuff for me to look at! And how cute is that combo of hearts, butterflies and skulls?!

Electric Feel is an intense, eye-catching mix of black and silver. This is 2 coats over Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue (dark blue is now my go to colour if I can't use black, and I'm not happy about it!).

There is something so satisfying about a holographic circle, I don't know why! Somehow I managed to capture the purple/blue/green colour shift fairly well here, and that and the holo contrasting with the black and those murky black hearts...beautiful!

Finally we have Warhol, another artist inspired polish. 2 coats over Collection 2000 Parma Violet.

This has such a gorgeous sparkle against the matte hearts and circles and as you can see, there are a lot of circles to be had! This is another polish I would never get sick of wearing, because every nail is always going to be different! I like my ring finger best (yes, I stared at them for quite a while. I like how it 'swooshes' down the left hand side. A little insight into my mind there!).

Altogether these were great polishes to use. Of course with larger glitters, there is always going to an element of fishing/dabbing, and I did do a bit of glitter placement, but they are so jam packed I really didn't have to fish at all! The trickiest was Slimer (those super thin neon glitters just do whatever they want!), but everything else was happy to get on the nail! Most required a bit of extra topcoat (2/3 coats) but again, that's fairly standard for larger glitter.

They are all beautiful polishes, full of exciting glitter (there is barely a hex in sight!). Ms Hairy Legs obviously has some serious glitter contacts! I wasn't sure how she would be able to up her game after Tainted Love (just droolworthy!), but she totally did.
