Nail Mail!

Greetings All!

This is my 100th post!!!

Just a quick post. Yesterday I got some amazing nail mail, so I thought I'd share it with you!

I can go through a bottle of Seche Vite in about 6 weeks. If I have it, I'll use it for every manicure. It's my 'go to' topcoat. I know sometimes there can be problems with shrinkage, and it does seem to get quite goopy quite quickly, but it's also amazing! I love the way in encases your nail art in this protective layer, like framing a photograph. But obviously, as it can cost £10 for a 14ml bottle and lasts less than 2 months, it's quite the luxury!

Not any more. I ordered one of the big salon bottles from eBay (118ml!), which is enough for 8 bottles. It also came with a full 14ml bottle, making it 9 bottles worth! What did I pay for this? £20.99 with free postage (making each bottle cost around £2.30). I'm hoping that this will last me the year. I'm also planning on getting some Seche Restore for when it gets goopy, but hopefully that can wait a little while and isn't going to be needed this week!

I'm scared that I'll drop it (imagine the mess!) but apart from that I love it! It came in a really sturdy cardboard box, and was very securely wrapped by the eBay seller. I would definitely buy this again (although hopefully I won't need to for a while!)

I also ordered some more Sally Hansen Salon Manicure polishes from Fragrance Direct. I'm getting a bit obsessed with these polishes - I just think that for the price, they are amazing quality and they have some really gorgeous colours.

Apologies for the terrible pic - but don't worry, you'll be seeing more of these! From left to right they are: Sheer Me Now, Peachy Keen, Himalayan Blue, Gilty Pleasure and Ion.

  1. I'm considering buying the big bottle too, I just can't think of a good way to transfer it into a small bottle. Does it come with a funnel or anything??

    1. I've been using the big bottle for a while now, it does come with a funnel but tbh it's much easier just to pour it straight from the big bottle into the little one. Hold your breath and work over some newspaper! Honestly, I've never spilt a drop!

    2. I think the same! There is a funnel, but slow, careful pouring straight from the bottle should be fine.

  2. SV is my holy grail topcoat too! I have the big bottle - honestly it was the best discovery I ever made! I'd definitely recommend you get Seche Restore as well (get the professional size of that too, iirc I paid about £10) - I let my little bottle of SV go down to about 3/4 full, add half a dropper full of Restore to thin it down, then fill up from the big bottle and it's good to go. I've found it gets gloppy when there's a bigger air space in the bottle, so I never let it get less than 3/4 full.

A big bottle lasts me over a year :D

    1. Ah thank you! I will make sure to keep it topped up. I do plan to get the Restore, it's in my watch list on eBay, but I figured (hoped!) it could wait a couple of weeks!

    1. Sorry I probably should have put what they are! I'll edit that.

(PS Hidden Treasure is available from http://www.xtras-online.co.uk/clearance/salhan14.html it's £1.99, but still a bargain!)

  4. Congratulations on your 100th post! Your Seche sounds like a bargain :) ... worries me that it's not "big 3 free" though, but it's the best top coat I've found.
