Grey Roses

Greetings All!

I thought I would share some nail art with you today. As many of you know, I love rose nail art! It's one of my very favourite designs and I seem to be doing them all the time! Here is yet another rose manicure!

OK, so this might be my favourite yet! I'm loving the black and white look, well it's actually four different greys but you get the idea. I started with a base of Asda Witchcraft. I wish Asda polishes were a bit better quality, because some of their colours are really lovely, but they can be tricky to apply and they're very chippy. I then made it matte with Asda Matte Topcoat (something they did get right!) and dotted on some Collection 2000 Angel Wings with a large dotting tool. I painted the petals with 17 Smoke Signal, and the leaves with OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees Suede, both with a small paintbrush.  I left it without topcoat because I really like the different textures and finishes. I also love the juxtaposition between the flowers, which are normally bright and colourful, and the dull greys I used. I think it's fabulous! I really can't get enough of rose manicures! Which is kind of odd because I'm really not a flowery person at all lol. I'm also the same with pink. Only on my nails. Nowhere else.

Do you have anything that you love on your nails, but you don't love anywhere else?

  6. These are fantastic. I think they'd work with lots of other colours too - with different tones of one colour like you've done here.

Must try roses one day, but really not sure I'd do them justice. Guess practice helps??

    1. Thank you! I'm already tempted to do different shades - purple, or maybe blue?

I'm not sure if practice helps! Mine seem to be a little hit and miss. My best tip would be to find a good tutorial because you have to build it up in steps and it looks a bit weird until it's finished!
